We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, to work at a partner school in Peterborough, supporting a pupil with additional behavioural and SEN needs on a one-to-one basis. This is a temporary, full-time role starting ASAP and running until the summer term as a long-term supply placement. The school is a welcoming and inclusive environment that places a strong emphasis on positive relationships, pupil wellbeing and supporting every child to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 behaviour and learning support to a pupil with SEN
- Implement behaviour strategies in line with the school’s policies and individual support plans
- Support the pupil’s emotional regulation and engagement within the classroom
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to monitor progress
- Help create a calm, safe and positive learning environment
Pre-requisites
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent)
- Proven experience of supporting pupils with SEN and behavioural needs
- Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and SEN practices
- Two education or school-based references
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
