Our client is the leading UK Supplier of premium building products, systems and solutions and due to continued growth is investing heavily into its people, machinery and manufacturing site. Currently recruiting for a CNC Machine Setter Operator to work on a weekly rotation shift comprising early and late shifts.
Shift Schedule
- Early shift: Mon-Fri 6am – 2pm (paid 0.5hr lunch). Total = 40hrs. Plus shift allowance.
- Late shift: Mon-Thurs 2pm – 11pm (paid 0.5hr lunch). Fri 2pm – 6pm. Total = 40hrs. Plus shift allowance.
Key Requirements
- Ideally proven experience as a CNC Machine Setter Operator / Programmer; recent apprentice or engineering college leaver also considered.
- Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools.
- Previous setting / programming knowledge of CNC multi-spindle machines preferred.
- Previous Mazak CNC machine experience advantageous.
- Ability to adapt to change.
- Skill in tool setting and part inspection.
Role Responsibilities
- Set up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle.
- Produce components in accordance with layouts, drawings, sketches, production orders or verbal instructions, working to the stated limits of tolerance.
- Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
- Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines.
- Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.
- Test operation of machines periodically.
- Fix issues that might occur during the shift.
- Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws.
- Keep records of approved and defective units or final products.
- Maintain activity logs.
- Use of cranes and forklifts.
