Just Recruitment is working with a well established business, looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor on a full time permanent basis on the outskirts of Beccles. This is a great opportunity to join a fabulous, long standing team with a positive work environment.
The key purpose of this role is to handle goods within the warehouse, ensuring they are received, stored, and dispatched efficiently and to provide work closely with the manager and stand in when he is not there.
Key duties include:
- Unload goods from delivery vehicles, verify delivery documents, check for discrepancies in quantities or damages.
- Store product in designated areas, ensuring they are properly labelled, scanned and stored in an organised manner.
- Perform inventory controls using scanners or computer systems to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Accurately pick cartons according to customer orders, pack them securely for delivery, and load them onto delivery vehicles.
- Use warehouse equipment such as Very Narrow Aisle trucks, Counter Balance, Reach, Power Pallet forklifts and hand pallet trucks to move goods safely and efficiently.
- Work as part of a team to complete tasks and ensure the smooth operation of warehouse activities.
- Plan ahead and manage the department based on the expected workload.
- Ensure all schedules/pallet labels, including specials, are printed, ensure entry numbers have been received prior to the container arrival.
- Check seal and container numbers are correct and that the container is in a good condition.
- Accurately record all goods being received, investigate discrepancies and report as required.
- Ensure weight checks are completed and records updated.
- Ensure QC cartons are pulled and placed in the QC area.
- Liaising with other internal departments ensuring requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
- Look for optimisation where possible.
- Ensure four stock takes are completed per annum, one for each quarter.
- Ensure all lift trucks that require charging are placed on charge ready for the following day's operation.
Both warehouse and supervisory experience are essential for this role as well as forklift licences such as CB and reach track - VNA would be beneficial. This role does include some manual handling and requirement to undergo further training for some of the specialist equipment - you need to be comfortable working at height!
Working hours are Monday to Friday - 8am - 5:30pm and due to the business location you need to have access to your own transport and free, secure parking is provided.
