Just Recruitment is working with a growing, global, manufacturing business, based on the outskirts of Sudbury, Suffolk. They are looking to add a Senior Product Technologist to their 4 person NPD team.
The purpose of this role is to bring in-depth knowledge of product development and trends, producing samples in response to customer requests, and using your detailed understanding to advise our Commercial, Technical, Operational and Quality teams on operational challenges.
Key duties include:
- Advise colleagues and customers using your detailed understanding of products.
- Lead recipe development activities and deliver successful trials/launches in collaboration with other departments.
- Work closely with commercial, technical, operational, and quality teams.
- Keep the business updated with industry trends, new ingredients and market demands.
- Prepare and participate in sensory evaluations and results evaluation/actions.
- Ensure all products comply with food safety, quality and legislative standards.
Candidate requirements:
- Excellent palate with a proficiency in identifying organoleptic properties.
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with colleagues, customers and suppliers; effective stakeholder management is a key enabler in this role.
- Literate in English and a capable grasp of mathematical calculations.
- Willing to learn new systems and processes; working knowledge of SharePoint and Excel.
- Strong skills in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
- Experience with testing in a laboratory environment + understanding results.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm - fully site based. You must have access to your own transport, due to company location.
