Just Padel is one of the UK’s fastest-growing padel operators, with sites open in Preston, Blackpool and Bolton and multiple new clubs launching nationwide. We’re building premium, community-driven padel clubs that combine top-tier facilities with a social, welcoming atmosphere. Our next location is Newcastle, and we’re looking for a driven, organised and hands-on Club Manager to lead the project from construction through to launch—and then run the club day-to-day.

Role Overview

This is a hybrid role covering two phases:

  • Build & Launch Phase (Pre-Opening)
    • You will be the on-site lead responsible for ensuring the Newcastle club is delivered on time and to Just Padel standards. You’ll work closely with contractors, suppliers, the Just Padel leadership team and local partners.
  • Operational Phase (Post-Opening)
    • Once the site opens, you will transition into the full Club Manager position—leading the team, owning the customer experience, and driving performance of the club.

This is a role for someone who thrives on taking ownership, managing people, and getting things done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Construction & Pre-Opening (3–6 months)
    • Act as the main on-site point of contact for contractors, suppliers, council officers and Just Padel senior management.
    • Monitor construction progress, ensuring deadlines, quality standards and safety procedures are met.
    • Coordinate deliveries of equipment, padel courts, flooring, lighting, signage and café/retail fit-out.
    • Track budgets, flag variances, and manage timelines.
    • Oversee installation of IT systems, booking software, access control, CCTV and POS.
    • Recruit and train the initial team (coaches, reception staff, café personnel).
    • Work with marketing to plan launch events, open days, and local outreach.
    • Prepare the club for opening—cleaning, stock ordering, signage, health & safety checks, risk assessments, SOPs.
  • Day-to-Day Club Management (Post-Opening)
    • Lead and develop a team of coaches, reception staff and part-timers.
    • Manage scheduling, rotas, payroll hours and performance.
    • Ensure the club is consistently clean, welcoming and operating smoothly.
    • Drive customer satisfaction—handle escalations, resolve issues, and maintain premium service standards.
    • Oversee events, leagues, tournaments and coaching programmes.
    • Maintain court conditions, equipment, and facilities (liaising with contractors for repairs).
    • Manage budgets, stock control and financial reporting.
    • Work alongside Head Office to deliver targets in bookings, memberships, events and retail.
    • Build strong community relationships with players, universities, schools and local businesses.

Skills & Experience Needed

  • Essential
    • Experience in facility management, hospitality, leisure, operations or project coordination.
    • Strong understanding of managing people, rotas and day-to-day operations.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Highly organised with an ability to manage multiple moving parts.
    • Comfortable being hands-on and solving problems in real time.
    • Ability to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends during busy periods).
    • Confident with basic IT systems and admin.
  • Ideal (but not essential)
    • Experience opening or operating sports or leisure venues.
    • Knowledge of padel, tennis, squash or community sports.
    • Experience working with contractors and construction teams.
    • First Aid or H&S qualifications.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + performance bonuses.
  • Free court access + staff discounts.
  • Growth opportunities as Just Padel expands nationwide.
  • Dynamic, community-focused working environment.
  • The chance to build and lead a brand-new flagship club from day one.
