Overview

Our well-known growing client has a superb Occupational Therapist Band 6/7 to provide specialist Occupational Therapy Services to children 3-18 years attending school. Children are a neurodiverse group with severe, profound, and complex disabilities.

Location: Buckinghamshire

Salary: Band 6/7 – £38,682; Band 7 – £47,810

Hours: Term Time only – 40 hours per week, 08:30 – 16:30

Client Group: working with 3-18 years children with a wide range of complex needs

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Occupational Therapist will provide highly specialist occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and consultation to children and young people (CYP) with a wide range of complex needs.
  • The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with education staff, parents/carers, and other professionals to support the functional development, participation, and well-being of pupils.
  • This role involves clinical leadership, mentorship, and contributing to service development within the school and wider therapy team.
  • The therapist will be involved in assessment, report writing, and formulation of appropriate intervention plans for children referred, and will work holistically with families and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure child-centred care.
  • You will be supported in your role by a multi-disciplinary therapy assistant and supervised by a senior occupational therapist.

To Qualify

  • Recognised Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC to practice
  • Evidence of attendance at other specialist courses relevant to paediatrics
  • Clinical experience of wide range of paediatric work in clinical or educational setting
  • Coordination of intervention planning in paediatrics
  • Clinical experience of working with children with a wide range of needs including Autistic Spectrum disorders, Dyspraxia, Sensory processing Disorders and neurological disorders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening to patients/families
  • Demonstrates ability to work at a high level of autonomy
  • Flexible and fun personality
