Just Learn are looking for a Science Teacher to teach at their school in Mitcham from Monday to Friday during school hours (9.00am to 4pm).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group teaching sessions to students in Chemistry and Biology for young people aged 11-16 with SEN or/and challenging behaviour.
  • Assess students' learning needs and develop personalised lesson plans to address their specific areas of improvement.
  • Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes student participation and success.
  • Utilize effective teaching strategies and resources to enhance students' understanding of the subject matter.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and their parents or guardians.
  • Collaborate with other educators and professionals to ensure the holistic development of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of teaching sessions, including attendance, progress reports, and any relevant documentation.

Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, parents or carers, and colleagues.
  • Experience working with students of different ages and backgrounds, including special education.
  • Proficient in lesson planning and curriculum development based on individual student needs.
  • Ability to manage a classroom or teaching session effectively, ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills to keep track of student progress, materials, and resources.

Lessons will be at the school provision during the week from Monday to Friday between 09:00-16:00. The teacher must have an Enhanced DBS on the Update System or be willing to pay towards the cost of one. Just Learn are committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of young people, their parents/carers and staff in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation, 2025.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate: Mitcham CR4 2QA: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
