Actuarial Analyst - Defined Benefit True Up Team
Location: London or Reigate (Hybrid - 50%)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours
The DB Actuarial Analyst will undertake pricing and actuarial input required to support delivery of DB Data True Ups and other tasks relating to in‑force business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of True Up, DB Actuary and DB Senior Actuarial Analyst in the accurate and timely delivery of data true ups.
- Prepare internal sign‑off documentation produced for each quotation, ensuring results are presented in a clear manner, outlining all material areas of judgement and limitations.
- Prepare drafts of client deliverables / data true up letters to be issued externally.
- Carry out all necessary BAU work for in‑force business, including scheme valuations.
- Prepare scheme valuations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare individual member calculations and ensure they are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop a deep knowledge of all systems and tools used by the True Up team.
- Proactively help to drive projects forward to ensure they are progressed in line with expected timescales.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and engagement within the True Up team.
- Leverage new technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Actuarial or maths‑related degree desirable, and/or working towards FIA qualification with some relevant experience.
- Desire for an actuarial career.
- Understanding of actuarial principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with DB pension scheme benefits and regulation is desirable.
- Familiarity with life insurance principles and regulation is desirable.
- Good IT skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
