We're looking for an exceptional Annuities Proposition Manager to join our Retail team in a brand-new role that offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact. This is an exciting chance to take ownership of our annuity proposition roadmap, act as the business's senior annuity subject matter expert, and play a pivotal role in delivering our ambitious growth plans.

Working at the heart of the business, you'll lead the development and optimisation of our annuity propositions, ensuring they remain commercially competitive, deliver outstanding customer outcomes, and meet evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of our annuity propositions, including the preparation and presentation of robust business cases.
  • Owning the annuity proposition roadmap and defining proposition changes, integrations and operational readiness requirements.
  • Driving cross-functional delivery across actuarial, pricing, operations, change and wider business teams.
  • Working closely with pricing and actuarial colleagues to ensure product features align with funding strategies, risk appetite and capital considerations.
  • Acting as the senior annuity proposition SME, providing expert guidance across pricing, underwriting and distribution.
  • Partnering with Technical and Governance teams to ensure propositions operate within established governance, approval and value assessment frameworks, while maintaining compliance with Consumer Duty, PROD and FCA requirements.
  • Using MI, customer insight and market intelligence to identify opportunities, improve proposition performance and enhance customer outcomes.
  • Influencing senior stakeholders and representing the annuity proposition both internally and externally.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners.

Skills and Experience:

  • A strong understanding of the UK annuities market, including key market dynamics, providers, distribution channels and intermediary networks.
  • Excellent commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to assess opportunities, manage trade-offs and think strategically to support business growth.
  • Proven experience influencing and building credibility with senior stakeholders, using insight and expertise to drive decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and leadership capability, with the ability to engage, inspire and align diverse audiences around a shared vision.
  • Knowledge of annuity pricing dynamics, longevity risk and capital considerations, and how these factors influence proposition design and performance.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership without direct authority, confidence and credibility to challenge constructively, influence effectively and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in a clear, structured and compelling way, particularly when presenting to executive and senior leadership audiences.
