Key Responsibilities:- Leading architecture and design sessions, ensuring solutions are logical, scalable, and aligned with engineering standards.
- Drive delivery outcomes, managing sprint execution, resolving technical blockers, and maintaining accountability for quality.
- Embed a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and structured problem‑solving.
- Provide hands‑on technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and guiding architecture and system design decisions.
- Promote engineering best practices and technical standards across teams.
- Manage and develop teams, including permanent and contingent resources, ensuring alignment, engagement, and performance.
- Serve as the main point of contact for delivery risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communications, providing clear updates for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Manage resource allocation, capacity planning, and prioritisation across multiple teams and deliveries.
- Oversee end‑of‑life systems and technical debt, ensuring timely prioritisation, stakeholder alignment, and delivery of remediation activities.
- Identify gaps in current practices and drive initiatives to improve throughput, quality, reliability, and documentation, using metrics and structured problem‑solving.
- Collaborate with Lead Engineers and Architects to ensure alignment with broader technical direction.
- Proven experience as a senior engineer, architect or technical lead within financial services.
- Strong technical leadership, staying close to the code to review, challenge and guide real engineering solutions.
- Deep understanding of modern architecture, system design and complex technical problem‑solving.
- Track record of driving engineering standards, best practices and consistently high technical quality.
- Team management experience with experience leading multi‑team delivery across major transformation or large‑scale technical programmes.
- Skilled in Agile delivery with accountability for sprint outcomes, technical quality and effective stakeholder communications.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Monitoring & Observability: Dynatrace, Application Insights.
