We have an exciting role within our Commercial and Propositions team as a Proposition Governance Lead, to focus on ensuring compliance with Consumer Duty and PROD4, and embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Reporting to the Head of Governance & Technical, you will act as a champion for governance, you’ll keep processes sharp, deliver clear insights to senior stakeholders, and influence decisions that drive great customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the established governance framework for retirement propositions, ensuring compliance for the Retail Product Manufacturing unit, under Consumer Duty and PROD4. As well as ensuring controls are followed, risks are escalated and decisions are documented.
- Independently assess product performance, customer outcomes, and governance data to identify trends, risks and issues. Engage with stakeholders to develop solutions and escalating concerns with clear, evidence‑based recommendations.
- Maintain and update the Proposition Development Procedure (PDP) and Proposition Governance Process (PGP), securing approvals within required timescales.
- Lead the annual Fair Value Assessments and Product Reviews for all Retail products, ensuring that these are completed within the required timescales.
- Monitor and interpret regulatory publications related to Consumer Duty and PROD4, assessing impacts and embedding best practice across Retail propositions and processes.
- Collaborate effectively across Retail and Group functions to gather insights with a continuous improvement mindset, enabling a deeper understanding of Retail Customer Outcomes.
- Act as a champion for Retail Governance processes within Retail and the wider business.
Skills and Experience
- Experience working within a governance or technical team in the pensions, wider retirement market or within financial services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Consumer Duty and PROD4 requirements for product manufacturers of insurance, lending, and investment products.
- Proven experience implementing or embedding Consumer Duty or similar governance frameworks.
- Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into practical governance controls and processes.
- Ability to summarise complex subjects for varying audiences.
- Able to engage and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including senior management.
- Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Proficiency in governance reporting tools, data analytics, and leveraging technology to improve governance processes and insights.
