Purpose of the role
As the Reporting Oversight and Workflow Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading the planning, managing and continuous improvement of the daily, monthly and quarterly reporting tasks across Finance Operations and the End to End statutory and regulatory reporting processes. The purpose of the role is to ensure that there is sufficient resource, with appropriate skills to complete all ledger postings and reconciliations within the working day targets and to the levels of quality set by the Head of Finance Operations & Regulatory Reporting. In addition, the role holder will orchestrate the end to end statutory and regulatory reporting processes, planning and coordinating hand-offs between teams to ensure that overall working day targets set by the Chief Financial Officer and Regulators are met.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a working-day timetable which highlights the key deliverables, hand-offs and critical path activities required for statutory and regulatory reporting.
- Maintain a comprehensive task list which describes the outcomes, dependencies and working day targets for all activities required to close the general ledger on a monthly basis.
- Work with managers across Finance Operations and Regulatory Reporting to ensure that there is sufficient resource to deliver the task list, including holiday tracking, task allocation and training to eliminate key person dependencies.
- Maintain a library of procedure notes which describe in detail how tasks across Finance Operations and Regulatory Reporting are performed.
- Periodically review and observe procedures to ensure that best practice is being followed and that documentation accurately reflects the work performed.
- Facilitate daily meetings with the team to track progress against the plan, resolve any immediate blockers or constraints and capture issues for later review.
- Facilitate monthly process retrospectives with the team to identify thematic issues, determine root causes, agree remedial activities and track progress of previously agreed actions.
- Plan and facilitate the end to end statutory and regulatory reporting process, including the identification and tracking of hand-offs between sub-process owners outside Finance Operations.
- Liaise with sub-process owners operating across the end to end process to identify any constraints or delays which may impact the reporting critical path, and take corrective action as required.
- Report the progress of the monthly financial close, statutory and regulatory reporting processes to key stakeholders, including an assessment of deviation from plan, risks, issues and mitigating actions.
- Lead root-cause analysis, solution design and delivery of improvements both within Finance Operations and the End to End reporting process which results in faster, more efficient or higher quality outcomes.
- Coordinate the operation and reporting of the Data Governance Framework, including the presentation of a quarterly Data Quality Report to key stakeholders.
- Contribute to wider finance transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, and reducing operational risk.
What we are looking for
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt is essential.
- Experience planning and managing work across large multi-skilled teams, ideally gained within the finance function of life insurance / financial services organisations.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
