Purpose of the role
The Financial Reporting Accountant will support the Senior Reporting Manager responsible for change and accounting technical matters with regards to Corporate Reporting. You will also support the Change Manager in delivering the following:
- Advising on accounting and reporting impacts of changes in products, investments and other business activity
- Implementing changes in IFRS accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accounting and reporting (Multi-GAAP, including Solvency II) support on material finance transactions and projects for example new product features, complex investments, corporate initiatives, leases, impairment, provisioning.
- Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure delivery of timely accounting technical support. This includes those in DB, Retail Actuarial, Investments, Finance, Risk.
- Monitor changes in the business and the external environment relevant for financial reporting.
- Provide support to the wider Group finance teams, including accounting technical advice and operational requirements to ensure financial reporting is concluded upon on a timely basis and is appropriately recorded and disclosed.
- Implementation of changes to accounting standards.

- Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
- Technical accounting experience required
- Financial reporting experience required
- IFRS 17 financial reporting experience desirable
- Life insurance industry desirable
