About this role
Just Eat Takeaway.com is looking to hire a Software Engineer with a frontend focus for our Content Platforms team. This team is at the heart of our global web presence, responsible for the Content Management System (OneCMS) and partner minisites that drive our SEO strategy and support millions of users and restaurant partners.
In this role, you’ll be a key player in designing, developing, and operating the scalable, high-performance web applications and services that power our content ecosystem. You will tackle challenges in performance, data management, and feature development, with a direct impact on business growth. In our organisation, ownership is one of our core engineering principles – we write it, and we own it.

These are some of the key components to the position:
Technical Definition: Collaborate with engineers, Product Managers, and SEO specialists to define and implement new features for our content platforms.
Full-Stack Development: Consistently deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions, with a focus on frontend excellence while contributing across the stack.
Technical Ownership: Take complete ownership of features you develop, from initial design through to deployment and proving they work well in production.
Performance & Optimisation: Proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks and opportunities for cost optimisation within our applications and cloud infrastructure (AWS).
Team Collaboration: Share your progress and ideas, contribute to team growth through knowledge sharing, and help mentor other team members to lift the whole team up.
What will you bring to the team?
We\’re looking for a collaborative, proactive, and commercially-aware engineer with a passion for building great products and a strong sense of ownership. Your technical toolkit should include:
Strong foundational software engineering experience, with a focus on building and maintaining web applications.
Experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React and Next.js is highly beneficial.
Proven experience building and integrating with server-side APIs within a microservices architecture.
An understanding of cloud services (ideally AWS) and a mindset for performance and cost-efficiency.
The ability to work independently, taking responsibility for the technical delivery of key initiatives.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly and concisely.
