The Opportunity
We're on the lookout for talented Golang Engineers to play a critical role in connecting Grocery Partners with the Just Eat Takeaway platform. In this mid-level position, you'll have a clear path to seniority. If you're solid on the fundamentals, eager to grow, and ready to contribute beyond your own delivery, we want to hear from you!
Our Tech Stack
You'll primarily work in Golang on event-driven microservices. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Kafka
- AWS (especially DynamoDB and S3)
- Datadog and Grafana
- Kubernetes
Don't worry if you're not familiar with everything on day one; the more experience you have, the quicker you'll settle in!
Your Key Responsibilities
- Build new features in our core language, Golang
- Contribute to architectural decisions and help advance the platform
- Support product and delivery teams
- Learn from senior engineers and share your insights with the team
What Will You Bring to the Table?
- Several years of backend engineering experience, including 1+ year of production Go (or 2+ years in another modern backend language with a proven ability to learn Go quickly)
- Strong Go fundamentals: concurrency, error handling, and interfaces
- Experience with microservice and event-driven design
- Hands-on experience building and running at least one production service end-to-end, including monitoring and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- A curious mindset and a sense of ownership
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code and Kiro
- Pair programming experience
- Experience with Kubernetes or another container platform is a plus
