About this role
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Principal Platform Engineer to provide strong technical leadership and drive the evolution of our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. This is a critical role focused on enhancing our tech platform\’s automation capabilities, ensuring seamless integration with CI/CD pipelines, and championing a developer self-service model. You will also explore and implement cutting-edge AI tools to further optimize our DevOps processes.
You will play a pivotal part in our ongoing platform consolidation efforts, designing and implementing highly available and resilient systems capable of withstanding migrations and extensive automation initiatives. Lead the vision, strategy, and execution for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across multiple engineering teams and diverse technology stacks.

Drive the adoption of Platform best practices, automation, and developer self-service capabilities across our global tech platform.

Champion a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Mentor and guide other Platform engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using advanced IaC principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Pulumi).

Automate infrastructure and operational tasks to improve efficiency, reliability, and speed of delivery, leveraging AI-assisted tooling where beneficial.

Develop strategies for managing and consolidating legacy systems while transitioning to modern, scalable architectures.

Contribute to the development and enhancement of our internal technology platform, focusing on ease of use, reliability, and scalability.

Champion and build out developer self-service capabilities to empower engineering teams and accelerate a secure software development lifecycle.

Develop and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines for automated provisioning, configuration, and deployment of infrastructure and applications.
What will you bring to the team?
- Proven track record as a Principal or Lead DevOps Engineer
- Deep, hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and GCP are highly preferred). Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and cost optimization.
- Expert-level proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Demonstrable experience in writing, managing, and optimizing complex IaC modules and state.
- Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools for DevOps and IaC, such as AWS Bedrock, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-driven solutions for automation, code generation, security analysis, or operational intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to define and drive technical strategy, influence and inspire engineering teams, and lead complex infrastructure projects.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in designing, building, and managing sophisticated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
- Passion for empowering developers by creating intuitive self-service tools and platforms.
- Solid understanding and experience in designing and implementing highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable systems. Experience with migration and consolidation projects is a significant plus.
- Experience navigating the complexities of diverse technology landscapes resulting from company acquisitions and mergers. Ability to drive consolidation and standardization.
- Proficient with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, GKE, EKS).
- Experience with modern monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).
