A Senior Engineer opportunity exists within our Enterprise AI team, working with a group of other Engineers to design, build, and deploy cutting-edge AI-powered solutions that drive business value across the organisation. The Senior Engineer is responsible for delivering a roadmap of improvements, focusing on the full lifecycle of AI applications, from initial prototyping to production-grade deployments.
- Design, develop, and deploy high-quality, scalable software solutions, focusing on AI-enabled applications and infrastructure.
- Lead and participate in technical projects and deployments of AI systems.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to other team members on best practices in AI engineering.
- Optimise existing model serving and data pipelines to meet changing performance and security requirements.
- Hold requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders and data science teams.
- Lead functional projects or work streams focused on AI infrastructure and tooling.
Experience working with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, Fargate, DynamoDB/RDS) or GCP (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, BigQuery) is required. Strong experience in Python and fluency in another language is essential. A genuine interest in and at least foundational experience with AI/ML concepts and technologies is necessary, demonstrating an eagerness to grow into a specialised AI Engineering role.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality work and driving forward best practices in software engineering is expected. Candidates should stay up to date with new technology in the AI space and have direct experience with advanced AI tools and platforms, such as Amazon Bedrock or Google Vertex AI. Familiarity with frameworks for building complex, multi-step generative AI applications, like LangGraph, is beneficial.
Experience with Agent-to-Agent (A2A) communication or coordination patterns in AI systems and hands-on experience leveraging AI-powered development tools like GitHub Copilot or similar platforms is advantageous. Knowledge of or experience with MCP to integrate LLMs with external data sources and tools is also valuable.
