Overview
Just Eat is expanding to offer groceries from local supermarkets and convenience stores, alongside restaurant food. This is a key opportunity to disrupt the fast-growing grocery delivery market. As a Senior iOS Engineer within our Grocery & Retail Domain, your work will be the face of one of the world\’s leading food delivery companies, primarily for our customer-facing apps. Your main focus will be speeding up the delivery of high-priority product features for our customers. In this role, you will be tasked with developing and refining scalable, high-quality software solutions that serve a diverse global market. You will be collaborating with multiple product and engineering teams around the world to help unlock new opportunities for our partners and enhance our customers\’ experience. Operating across multiple locations, our team is based in offices in London, Bristol and Berlin. Please note that this position is located in London (3 days a week from our London office and 2 days working from home).
Responsibilities
- Product Definition: Collaborate with engineering teams and Product Managers in workshops to contribute significantly to defining new product features.
- Technical Ownership: Consistently deliver high-quality software that meets team best practices and expectations.
- Project Management: Take complete ownership of components you develop, managing timelines and transparently communicating progress towards wider team and organizational goals.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Share your progress and ideas with your team, and contribute to the growth of the iOS guild by sharing new development practices, patterns, and standards.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit (view lifecycle & data flow)
- Proven experience in testing (unit, UI, and integration) and continuous integration workflows
- Ability to design and implement reusable, efficient, and readable components using established patterns
- Solid knowledge of iOS memory management, structures, classes, and concurrency (e.g. GCD, async/await)
- Experience with Swift Package Manager and modern iOS development tools
- Commitment to accessibility and inclusive app design
