About this role

JET's Security Architecture & Engineering function is responsible for making data protection a built-in property of how we design and operate our platforms, not an afterthought.

As Data Security Specialist, you'll be responsible for engineering the controls that safeguard JET's most sensitive structured and unstructured data across cloud-native and enterprise environments.

You'll translate architectural data security standards into working, scalable implementations from DLP platforms to encryption pipelines, and embed Privacy and Security by Design into engineering delivery.

You’ll work at the intersection of data security engineering and automation, engineering to turn continuous insights like data security findings into automated engineering guardrails.

Utilising CI/CD pipelines, and LLM-driven automation, your vision will enhance our automated data defense, your execution will deliver continuous compliance and risk reduction, and your approach will care deeply about creating frictionless security workflows that enable development teams to innovate safely.

Together with engineering, IT, and business stakeholders, you’ll drive a culture where security isn't a hurdle, it's a competitive advantage that helps us win together.

These are some of the key components to the position

  • Oversee the deployment and daily management of Enterprise DLP and encryption solutions across network, cloud, endpoint, and AI environments to protect data at rest, in transit, and in use.
  • Manage automated data discovery pipelines to ensure sensitive information is accurately mapped and protected, extending these controls to AI-integrated environments (e. g., training datasets, model inputs, and inference logs).
  • Collaborate with the Security Architecture team to embed data protection controls, cryptography, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Ia C) baselines directly into CI/CD developer workflows.
  • Translate written data security and compliance policies into executable "Policy-as-Code" (e. g., OPA) and manage the deployment of automated guardrails and remediation scripts across cloud environments.
  • Streamline engineering workflows by building API integrations between security scanners and ticketing systems, and utilize intelligent automation to parse, prioritize, and tune data security alerts (reducing false positives).
  • Guide engineering teams by providing automated feedback loops, clear technical documentation, and developer-friendly data protection tools that prevent leaks before deployment.

What will you bring to the team?

  • Proven experience implementing and managing data security controls in cloud-native or enterprise environments, spanning DSPM platforms (e. g., Wiz), Enterprise DLP, cryptography, and data classification programs.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills (Python & Bash/Shell). You're comfortable translating security goals into working code, remediation scripts, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Strong track record of translating governance policies and security alerts into automated remediation workflows and CI/CD security gates, ensuring robust protection without disrupting engineering velocity.
  • Practical understanding of AI/ML data security risks (e. g., OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, prompt injection, and training data exposure), coupled with experience using AI tools to automate security tasks like alert triaging and data classification.
  • A highly collaborative approach with the ability to build trusted partnerships across Dev Ops, Software Engineering, IT, and Privacy teams, acting as an enabler rather than a blocker.
  • Strong ability to evaluate complex data flows and translate dense security findings into clear, actionable code comments, documentation, and developer-friendly alerts.
  • A solid understanding of data privacy regulations (e. g., GDPR) and a strong ethical foundation, setting the standard for the secure handling of highly sensitive structured and unstructured data.
