As an application security engineer, you’ll be working with our global Technology teams to ensure the right security controls are implemented throughout the SDLC. You’ll be a subject matter expert for your partners, able to context switch and adapt to the needs of our globally dispersed development teams working across multiple languages, tools, and methodologies. You may be asked to consult on a time-sensitive feature, facilitate a threat model for a new product, or deep-dive into a legacy application; no two days are the same.

They should be able to build collaborative relationships and drive lasting change to raise the bar of security in all our products and services.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Translate security principles into requirements and controls that can be understood and implemented across Just Eat Takeaway.com’s platforms.
• Lead security reviews of varying scale and depth including threat modelling, design review, consultation, and code reviews to improve the overall security of our applications.
• Assess vulnerabilities in AI-enabled applications and services, and leverage AI tools and agents to improve security analysis and developer enablement.
• Be a leading voice, championing security with developers, in both technical and non-technical terms.
• Work collaboratively with our key stakeholders, and also independently.

What will you bring to the team?

• Experience defining controls for complex environments independent of the underlying platform or technology.
• Detailed knowledge of OWASP Top 10, and in relation to how to design appropriate security controls.
• Experience working with Secure Coding Tools (SCA, SAST & Secrets).
• Experience in identifying and addressing vulnerabilities throughout SDLC, with the ability to switch between defensive and offensive mindset.
• Experience securing AI-enabled applications and assessing common AI/LLM vulnerabilities.
• Great communication skills, and proven stakeholder management both within and outside of technology departments.
• Experience in guiding and developing engineers on best practice.
• You will have a passion for learning, always looking to identify opportunities to develop your own security knowledge.
