ABOUT JDI
Just Does It is a building contractor working across West London and surrounding areas. We specialise in exterior refurbishment, flat roofing, leadwork, interior refurbishment and general maintenance including painting and decorating, on both commercial and domestic property. We work as a main contractor on a wide range of buildings, including many listed ones, and we work closely with surveyors and property managing agents to deliver work to a high, sustainable and professional standard.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Tiler / Stone Installer / Renderer to join JDI's teams across West London and surrounding areas. The core of the role is floor and wall tiling and natural stone installation, in bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and common parts where the finish is on show and the client is paying attention. Alongside that it covers render, screed and the cleaning down of brick and stone on facade works. We are looking for someone who wants a full week: if there are no tiles to lay that day, there is always good work to be done.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Floor and wall tiling — ceramic, porcelain, large format and mosaic — set out accurately and finished cleanly.
- Natural stone installation — slabs, treads, thresholds, sills and paving, cut and bedded to suit the setting.
- Substrate preparation, screed and levelling — priming, backer boards, sand and cement screed and self-levelling compounds.
- Rendering — traditional and modern systems, repair patches and full elevations.
- Brick and stone cleaning — washing down and removing staining on facades and common parts without damaging the fabric.
- Turning your hand to other site work on the days there is no tiling and clearing up properly at the end of each day.
REQUIREMENTS
- Wall and Floor Tiling NVQ (Level 2 minimum) or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- CSCS card — blue (Skilled Worker) as a minimum.
- Proven experience across tiling, stone installation, render and screed.
- Confident and safe working from scaffold; own van and full driving licence an advantage, not essential.
- Your own professional tools for the trade.
- Full PPE, good spoken English, and clear communication on site.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
- Rates above market, paid direct — no agency in the middle.
- Incentive plans on top of base pay.
- Real work on real buildings — listed buildings, mansion blocks and period properties. The kind of work you'll be proud to point at.
- High standards, the right way. We do the job properly, finish what we start, and the standard of finish matters because the client is paying attention.
- Steady work, organised sites — materials ready, instructions clear, payment on time.
