We are currently recruiting for a friendly, organised, and enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist / Veterinary Care Assistant (VCA) to join a welcoming and supportive veterinary practice near Walton-on-Thames. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal care and enjoys delivering exceptional client service in a busy practice environment.
The Role
As a key member of the team, you will be the first point of contact for clients and their pets, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter the practice. You will also assist the clinical team with day-to-day duties, helping to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Welcoming clients and their pets into the practice
- Managing appointments and telephone enquiries
- Handling client payments and administrative tasks
- Maintaining accurate patient records
- Supporting the veterinary team with patient care and handling
- Preparing consultation rooms and maintaining cleanliness throughout the practice
- Assisting with the day-to-day running of the hospital
About You
We would ideally like to hear from candidates who have previous experience working within the veterinary industry, either as a Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary Care Assistant, Animal Care Assistant, or in a similar role. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous veterinary practice experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A caring and compassionate approach towards both clients and their pets
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work well within a team and independently when required
- A positive and proactive attitude
