I have a lovely independent practice looking for an experienced VCA full time. Must have at least 1-2 years previous experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Animal Care:
  • Feeding, watering, and ensuring animals have access to fresh food and water.
  • Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, cages, and kennels.
  • Grooming and exercising animals.
  • Monitoring animal health and behaviour, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
  • Assisting with Treatments and Procedures:
    • Preparing equipment and treatment rooms.
    • Assisting with basic treatments, such as administering medications (under supervision).
    • Restraining animals for examinations and procedures.
    • Monitoring animals during and after procedures.
  • General Practice Support:
    • Maintaining a clean and organized practice environment.
    • Handling and transporting animals safely.
    • Some VCAs may also assist with reception or administrative tasks.
  • Specific Duties for Inpatients:
    • Exercising, grooming, and feeding hospitalized animals.
    • Monitoring and providing supportive care to inpatients.
    • Preparing the operating theatre and relevant equipment.
