Jupiter provides investment services to individual and institutional investors through mutual funds (UK unit trusts, Luxembourg SICAVs and Dublin OEICs), separately managed accounts and sub‑advised funds. The firm has experienced international growth with offices in EMEA and APAC. The majority of employees work from the London office, which offers 3:2 hybrid working (Tuesdays, Thursdays and an additional day chosen by the employee).
Background
You will join the Technology team as a Business Analyst aligned to the Data Platform function. You will lead initiatives that enhance the firm’s data ingestion, data products, data quality processes, and integration with key platforms such as Aladdin Data Cloud and third‑party administrators. You will collaborate closely with data engineers and business users to translate complex business needs into scalable data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process and workflow analysis.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to define project requirements and scope.
- Communicate project progress, estimates, and updates to stakeholders and senior management, creating documentation and presentations as needed.
- Support the project with analysis, testing, organisational and project‑administration skills as required.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful delivery using Agile methodologies.
- Utilise SQL, PowerBI and Python to gather, analyse, manipulate and document data, translating findings into technical specifications for data engineers.
- Document all requirements, process flows and solution designs to agreed standards, maintaining traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Adhere to and promote data governance standards, ensuring data definitions, lineage and quality considerations are incorporated into deliverables.
- Produce high‑quality documentation including business requirements, data dictionaries, source‑to‑target mappings, process flows and user guides.
- Engage with the wider Business Analysis team for knowledge sharing and guidance.
- Set direction and use standards and tools such as Azure DevOps, MS Loop, LucidCharts, MS Teams for successful delivery.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools and emerging technologies relevant to your area of work.
- Proactively identify and implement improvements across organisational processes.
Desired Skills / Experience
- Experience delivering business and technically focused Business Analysis services for change initiatives involving multiple teams or external organisations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage audiences at varying levels of business and technical understanding, including seniority.
- Strong understanding of asset management functions and financial data knowledge.
- Solid technical skills in SQL and Excel; experience with Python is a plus.
- Experience working as part of an Agile Tech Delivery team.
- Good understanding of ABOR/IBOR data.
- Experience with Aladdin Data Cloud.
- Experience developing solutions integrating third‑party data.
- Experience supporting onboarding of new fund types (ETF, Hedge funds, Segmented mandates).
- Experience creating data products to support business functions such as Operations, Risk and Distribution.
