Background
The role is within the Finance Team, supporting members across sub‑teams, including Tax, and is a 9‑month Fixed Term Contract.
As Finance Manager, you will work directly with stakeholders in Finance, Tax and the wider business, managing and resolving issues within a BAU capacity, and support acquisition‑related integration activity through implementing efficient, controlled system‑related changes.
The role encompasses operational finance, external reporting, audit oversight, business analysis and treasury support, while driving efficiency and process improvement across Finance.
This role is suitable for a qualified accountant with 1‑3 years post‑qualified experience, who seeks management and leadership responsibility and enjoys working with a range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Responsibilities
- Support the Financial Control team in Accounts Receivable, revenue recognition, Accounts Payable and expense functions including customer and supplier invoice and expense payment approvals, month‑end review and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation and posting of accounting journals such as payroll, projects and capitalisation.
- Support the Head of Financial Control with implementation and booking of transfer pricing entries in line with group and entity policies.
- Support the treasury function, including best use of corporate cash and working with the Risk Committee in relation to counter‑party limits.
- Contribution to business analysis such as the annual Value Assessment Report, pricing reviews and various industry‑wide surveys in partnership with Corporate Development / Strategy.
- Assist with the production of various subsidiary board requirements.
- Producing ad hoc analysis and reporting.
- Maintenance and oversight of banking mandates and administration.
Technical And Accounting Responsibilities
- Support delivery of year‑end requirements including Audit Committee papers, Annual Report and Accounts, including acting as a point of contact for internal and external auditors.
- Produce and maintain various accounting policies and procedures such as Treasury, Travel & Expenses.
- Support review of department control matrix working closely with Risk function.
- Support the production and review of the subsidiary financial statements.
- Contribute to the review and management of month‑end results with particular focus on revenues, non‑compensation and fixed staff expenses.
Project Responsibilities
- Driving continuous process improvement projects working alongside the systems accountant.
- Working closely with all business areas alongside Finance Business Partners to gain an understanding of BAU and project activities and accounting treatment, and responsibility for driving improvement and development.
- Support Finance project implementation, co‑ordination of various Finance and Tax integration requirements, assisting with delivering key integration project milestones related to the Finance ledger, planning, compensation and sales and AUM reporting systems.
Desired Skills & Experience
- A motivated individual who can work autonomously and as part of a team.
- A recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) is essential.
- A qualified accountant with 1‑3 years post‑qualification experience.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across the business at all levels.
- Able to demonstrate a team approach and to work collaboratively across functions.
- Experience and aptitude in managing varied stakeholder requirements and priorities.
- Problem‑solving skills, capable of handling pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
- High attention to detail.
