An established IVD supplier is hiring a Territory Manager for London and the South East. The portfolio spans multiple clinical diagnostic disciplines, alongside the instrumentation that runs them, sold into NHS trusts, pathology networks and private laboratories across the UK and Europe. This role is aimed at a Biomedical Scientist who wants to move out of the lab and into a commercial career. You will not be expected to arrive with a sales background. You will be expected to arrive with genuine technical credibility, because that is what makes the difference in front of a lab manager. The territory covers London and the Home Counties, running east through Essex and Suffolk into East Anglia, west towards Oxford and south to the Sussex coast.

About the Role

  • You will manage and develop business across NHS trusts, private pathology networks and clinical laboratories, acting as a technical advisor to lab managers, clinical leads and procurement teams rather than as a conventional salesperson.
  • There is structured commercial onboarding and sales training, and direct mentorship from senior members of the field team who have made the same move themselves.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and growing accounts across NHS trusts, private hospital networks and clinical laboratories in the region.
  • Delivering consultative technical presentations and demonstrations across the diagnostic portfolio.
  • Using your laboratory experience to understand customer workflows and match them to the right solutions.
  • Identifying new opportunities, managing pipeline and contributing to NHS tender submissions and contract renewals.
  • Building long term relationships with Biomedical Scientists, Laboratory Managers, Clinical Leads and Procurement.
  • Working alongside internal technical support, product management and field applications colleagues.
  • Developing territory plans, forecasting and feeding back on market and competitor activity.

Qualifications

  • HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist, Band 5 or above, or equivalent private laboratory experience.
  • Hands on bench experience, ideally in molecular, microbiology or immunology, though other pathology disciplines are welcome.
  • A genuine, demonstrable interest in moving from the laboratory into a technical sales career.
  • Able to explain complex technical detail credibly to both clinical and commercial audiences.
  • Self motivated and well organised, with the discipline to manage your own territory.
  • Based in or around London or the South East, with a full UK driving licence.

Why Make the Move

This is one of the cleaner routes out of the lab. You keep using your scientific training every day, you get proper commercial training rather than being thrown in, and you join a business that is expanding its range and its European footprint. Career progression from here runs into senior territory manager roles.

Pay range and compensation package

Competitive base with circa 20% uncapped commission, company car or car allowance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, contributory pension and life assurance.
