The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Finance Operations will lead Juniper’s core financial management activities, ensuring robust financial health, statutory compliance, and strategic insight.
You will oversee all aspects of financial operations from solvency and reporting to budgeting and audit while providing the CFO and Senior Leadership Team (SLT) with the financial clarity needed to drive confident decision‑making.
This is a pivotal role for a dynamic, commercially astute finance leader who thrives on operational excellence and strategic impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Safeguard Juniper’s financial integrity through proactive cash flow, working capital, and solvency management.
- Deliver regular liquidity analysis and scenario planning to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Ensure compliance with all UK tax, statutory, and reporting requirements.
- Lead the production of timely, high‑quality monthly management accounts and analysis.
- Provide insight‑driven commentary and recommendations to the CFO and SLT.
- Oversee the preparation of year‑end statutory accounts under IFRS/UK GAAP and ensure audit readiness.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
- Manage company‑wide budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and accountability across departments.
- Lead variance analysis and ensure timely corrective actions where required.
Compliance, Governance & Audit
- Maintain full statutory and regulatory compliance (VAT, payroll, Companies House).
- Lead the annual audit process and ensure strong internal controls are embedded throughout finance operations.
Commercial Finance
- Oversee financial monitoring of contracts, identifying performance trends and supporting recovery strategies.
- Provide timely and accurate financial data for tenders, bids, and contract reviews.
- Lead, coach, and develop the finance team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement.
- Champion process automation and system enhancements (Sage 200 experience desirable).
- Promote innovation and consistency across all finance processes.
About You
You will be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) with substantial post‑qualification experience and a proven record of leading finance teams in medium‑to‑large organisations.
You’ll bring:
- Strong technical expertise in credit control, cash management, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting strategic decision‑making at SLT level.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for driving financial efficiency and operational excellence.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with modern financial systems (Sage 200 desirable).
