We’re looking for a passionate and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support our growing provision for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) at our Telford Training Centre. This is your chance to be part of something special—supporting young people aged 16–24 to achieve their potential, overcome barriers, and move forward with confidence into further learning or employment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting learners in the classroom – Work alongside the SEND Tutor to deliver group sessions and 1-to-1 interventions, helping students with SEND develop skills, confidence and independence.
- Helping learners progress – Deliver memorable learning experiences through community projects, external speakers, visits and enterprise activities.
- Providing personalised support – Assist in planning, organising and delivering content based on individual EHCPs, ensuring reasonable adjustments and access arrangements are in place.
- Building brilliant relationships – Create a supportive, inclusive environment for students, local authorities, families and colleagues.
- Making a difference every day – Support assessment, marking and reviews, encourage good attendance, positive behaviour and a love of learning.
Qualifications and Experience
We’re looking for someone who’s caring, enthusiastic and ready to roll up their sleeves to support students who need that little bit of extra help.
Essential
- Level 2 English and Maths (minimum)
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Qualifications and/or experience in supporting SEND learners
- Safeguarding and/or Equality & Diversity qualifications
- Experience of working with young people with additional needs
Desirable
- Level 3 Teaching Qualification or HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant)
- Experience delivering SEND provision to 16–24-year-olds
- Level 3 in Dyslexia, ADHD & Autism
