About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Roofer to join our team as a Tutor/Skills Coach. In this role, you will deliver engaging training sessions, assess occupational competency, and support the development of apprentices and students in either Waterproofing, Slating & Tiling, or Sheeting & Cladding disciplines. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring high attendance, retention, and achievement rates.
Key Responsibilities
- Training & Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging, effective training sessions for groups of apprentices and students.
- Develop and implement training programs that lead to successful outcomes.
- Conduct Off-the-Job Training Workshops and Study Programme sessions.
- Monitor and manage Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to track apprentice progress.
- Ensure training delivery aligns with employer needs and industry standards.
- Assessment & Progress Monitoring
- Conduct initial assessments and set challenging yet achievable targets.
- Assess student/apprentice portfolios and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct regular reviews of progress and document findings.
- Facilitate workplace visits to support apprentices in achieving their qualifications.
- Prepare apprentices for End-Point Assessment (EPA) using the NOCN RUBRIC platform.
- Student Engagement & Retention
- Ensure student and apprentice attendance and retention targets are met.
- Provide ongoing support to help students develop essential English and maths skills.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Performance & Targets
- Work towards set performance targets to meet contractual obligations.
- Maintain high standards of training delivery and assessment.
What We’re Looking For
- Relevant industry experience in Roofing (Waterproofing and/or Sheeting & Cladding).
- Recognised teaching or training qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Passion for training and development with the ability to motivate learners.
