Overview
Progressions Coordinator (Work Experience Coordinator) at Juniper Training Ltd — Based at Building Futures, Aldridge (West Midlands). Part-time role (4 days per week) with working hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Salary: £24,000 – £28,000 FTE (Actual salary for 4 days/week: approx. £20,480 – £23,893 pro-rata).
Responsibilities
- Champion construction learners by supporting learners on our construction training programmes—especially roofing and related trades—helping them set goals and explore career progression routes.
- Build employer relationships by developing partnerships with local roofing firms, construction companies, and trade networks to create a pipeline of work placements, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
- Track and celebrate learner progress by monitoring achievements, progression, and outcomes to keep learners motivated and on track.
- Expand your network by establishing and maintaining a network of at least 50 active employers in the construction and trades sector.
- Prioritise safety by carrying out risk assessments to ensure placements are safe, supportive, and suitable for young learners.
- Deliver employability sessions—engaging, practical workshops covering workplace skills, CVs, and interview preparation tailored to construction learners.
- Safeguard and support learners by promoting well-being, embedding safeguarding practices, and upholding Juniper\’s values in every interaction.
What You’ll Need
Essential
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths
- Experience or understanding of the construction industry (roofing or related trades desirable)
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills
- A proactive, target-driven mindset
Desirable
- CEIAG Level 3/4 (or willingness to work towards this careers guidance qualification)
- Previous experience supporting young people, NEET learners, or delivering employability guidance
- Understanding of work-based learning, apprenticeship pathways, and vocational training routes
