Full-Time Vocational & English Tutor – Chesterfield

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 (Full‑time)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (merged role: Vocational Tutor + English Tutor)

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them progress into employment, further training, or apprenticeships? We’re looking for a dedicated Vocational & English Tutor to deliver high‑quality teaching and mentoring to learners aged 16–18 at our Chesterfield centre. This newly combined role offers the best of both worlds: practical employability teaching and academic English delivery (GCSE & Functional Skills), giving you the opportunity to make a wide‑ranging impact across the study programme.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Vocational & Employability Delivery
  • Deliver engaging, practical sessions to develop employability, personal development, and vocational skills
  • Support learners with CVs, interview skills, work readiness, and career planning
  • Provide feedback, track progress, and help learners achieve their individual goals
  • Work collaboratively with employers to create meaningful learning experiences
  • English Delivery (GCSE & Functional Skills)
    • Deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English sessions to build literacy, communication, and confidence
    • Support learners in reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
    • Prepare learners for assessments and track progress to ensure successful outcomes
    • Maintain compliance through accurate records, schemes of work, and individual learning plans

    What You Bring

    • A teaching qualification (PTLLS/AET or equivalent – or willingness to work towards)
    • Experience delivering vocational/employability or English (GCSE/Functional Skills) – ideally both
    • Passion for supporting learners to succeed
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and IT skills for planning, delivery, and record keeping
    • Bonus: Previous experience delivering employability programmes or Functional Skills English
