We are seeking a talented and motivated Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the dayâtoâday running of our kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual looking to develop their culinary career within a fastâpaced, highâquality kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring smooth service
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
- Ensure compliance with UK food safety and health & safety regulations (including HACCP)
- Support menu development, including seasonal and special dishes
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise waste
- Step in to lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Chef de Partie ready to step up
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
- A passion for fresh, highâquality food and attention to detail
- Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) desirable
