Overview

As a Playworker within our setting, you will have the opportunity to lead a range of activities, including role play, arts and crafts, bouncy castle time, discos, visits and outings like when we go to feed the lambs and so so much more! Your day to day role will be ever-changing, exciting and full of laughter. You and your team will have allocated time for admin related tasks, so that during the session your focus can be enjoying these activities and supporting children to engage and develop through the 16 play types. As a Playworker, you will be working at our settings within schools Monday – Friday, your shifts will be 7:30am – 9.00am for the breakfast club and 3.00pm – 6.00pm for the after school club. This is a 22.5 hour/week contract. You can chose to be term time only or to be on a 52 week (all year round) contract where you will work the all day holiday clubs too. You will be modelling your knowledge and best practice to colleagues and ensuring your children have the best start to their school day! You will create a safe, fun and fulfilling home from home environment for the children, asking how their school day was, playing games and eating a snack before they go home for dinner. We care about our children and know them really well, and we hope you will love this job as much as we do! Staff retention is really important to us, making sure our team members can come to work every day looking forward to their shift in a positive, supportive clean environment. We have staff who have worked with us since 2014 and any new staff that join us now, we want to take care of you too!

Responsibilities

  • As a Playworker, you will ensure every individual child\’s needs are met, including supporting parents with any SEND needs.
  • Prioritise the safeguarding of children.
  • Speak up against practices that don\’t support safeguarding or our core values.
  • Attend parents evening, open day events and relevant training sessions.
  • Build close relationships with parents and carers and report daily on their child\’s time at club.
  • Take ownership of the observation, assessments and planning for your key children in line with EYFS and provide developmentally challenging next steps.
  • Remain up to date with our childcare policies and procedures.
  • Be a key player to ensure the setting receives excellent outcomes in internal audits and those of external authorities such as Ofsted, Environmental health ect
  • Ensure we encourage and praise children\’s development and achievements.
