We’re on the lookout for an experienced Lifeguard to join our Junior Adventures Group (JAG) team at our Holiday Camp. As a JAG Lifeguard, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children aged 4–11 during their swimming sessions. You’ll monitor pool activities, enforce safety rules, and be ready to respond to emergencies – all while maintaining a welcoming, calm, and positive atmosphere.

Location: Thornton College, Milton Keynes

Hours: Summer camp - July & August 2026 8am - 6pm

Pay: £13.50 per hour

What you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Ensure the safety of all swimmers and spectators during swimming sessions.
  • Supervise pool activities, enforcing safety rules and maintaining a fun but secure environment.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to any emergencies, providing first aid when required.
  • Conduct regular safety checks on pool areas and equipment.
  • Promote water safety awareness and positive behaviour around the pool.
  • Maintain professionalism and act as a JAG ambassador, ensuring every child feels safe, supported, and encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Strong swimming ability and confidence in performing water rescues.
  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

Safeguarding: This role requires compliance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. You must provide two references – one from your most recent employer and one from a childcare setting (if applicable). An Enhanced DBS check will be carried out as part of the hiring process, and you must provide the correct documentation.
