Overview

As a 1:1 Playworker, you will be working at our Cotton End Primary School setting providing 1:1 care during our after-school clubs. The hours are 7.30am-9.00am and 3.00pm-5.30pm Monday to Friday term time only but we may have additional hours available to you in our holiday clubs if requested. You will be modelling your knowledge and best practice to colleagues and ensuring your 1:1 child has the best end to their school day.

Responsibilities

  • You will ensure your 1;1 child\\\’s needs are met, including supporting parents with any SEND needs.
  • Prioritise the safeguarding of all children within the setting.
  • Speak up against practices that don\\\’t support safeguarding or our core values.
  • Attend parents evening, open day events and relevant training sessions.
  • Build close relationships with parents and carers and report daily on their child\\\’s time at club.
  • Take ownership of the observation, assessments and planning for your key children in line with EYFS and provide developmentally challenging next steps.
  • Remain up to date with our childcare policies and procedures.
  • Be a key player to ensure the setting receives excellent outcomes in internal audits and those of external authorities such as Ofsted, Environmental health etc.
  • Ensure we encourage and praise children\\\’s development and achievements.

Qualifications

  • Ideally a level 1,2 or 3 qualification in Childcare/ Early Years but not essential.
  • Experience within a nursery/preschool/childminding environment.
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training in the future.
  • A passion for childcare and a genuine interest in child development.

Junior Adventures Group provides high quality, fun, vibrant child centered and affordable out of school play provision for children. We place the importance of a home from home environment in our settings, where children are encouraged to flourish through an exciting array of play opportunities and experiences., You will create a safe, fun and fulfilling home from home environment at Junior Adventures Group, asking children how their school day was, playing games and eating a snack before they go home for dinner. We care about our children and know them really well, and we hope you will love this job as much as we do! Staff retention is really important to us, making sure our team members can come to work every day looking forward to their shift in a positive, supportive clean environment. We have staff who have worked with us since 2014 and any new staff that join us now, we want to take care of you too!
