EYFS Breakfast & After School Club Manager (Maternity Cover) – Northwood HA6

Job type: Full‑time

Contract: Fixed‑term maternity cover until July 2027

Location: St Helen's Primary School, Eastbury Road, Northwood, HA6 3AS

Salary: £14.50 per hour

Hours: 20 hours per week in service plus 3.75 hours paid administration time per week

About the Role

As Club Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of our Breakfast & After School Club, ensuring children receive outstanding care in a warm, stimulating and inclusive environment.

You will lead a small team, plan engaging activities, build strong relationships with children, families and the school, and ensure the club operates to the highest standards of care, safeguarding and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily operation of the Breakfast & After School Club.
  • Create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Plan and deliver fun, creative and engaging activities.
  • Ensure children's safety, wellbeing and safeguarding at all times.
  • Supervise, support and inspire club staff.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and school staff.
  • Complete planning, registers, administration and other club documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety and all relevant policies and procedures.

About You

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Full & Relevant Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification (essential).
  • Have experience working with children in an Early Years or childcare setting.
  • Have previous supervisory or management experience (desirable).
  • Have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding and child development.
  • Be confident leading and motivating a team.
  • Be organised, reliable and able to work independently.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be passionate about providing exceptional childcare experiences for children.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
