We are looking for a skilled and motivated Part-Time Cook/Kitchen Lead to support and lead the day-to-day kitchen operations at our busy soft play and hospitality venue. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in food preparation and service, a strong understanding of food safety standards, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. This role involves working closely with the wider team to deliver consistently high-quality food and a great customer experience.
Hours for this role will be mainly over weekends, with some weekday shifts required to support the team during busier periods, holidays, or special events.
Duties- Lead and support daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and service.
- Ensure full compliance with all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations.
- Oversee kitchen cleanliness and organisation, ensuring all work areas are clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and support with stock rotation and waste control.
- Supervise and support kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth and efficient service during peak periods.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house and supervisory teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members.
- Uphold company standards and contribute to a positive and professional team culture.
- Previous experience in a cook or kitchen role within hospitality, café, or restaurant settings.
- Strong practical cooking skills and understanding of food preparation techniques.
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods.
- Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety procedures (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate preferred).
