The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Workshop Engineer. You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and preparation of Jungheinrich and other brand materials handling equipment, working to company quality and productivity standards. This includes:

  • Accurately diagnosing incoming work and ensuring required parts are ordered and fitted
  • Carrying out repairs, modifications, rental preparation, and PDI's using company systems (e.g., JETI)
  • Completing all work to agreed quality and time standards
  • Producing accurate inspection and defect reports
  • Managing and ordering parts and sub‑contract services when required
  • Updating company records and documentation using a company laptop
  • Observing and maintaining excellent health & safety and housekeeping standards
  • Occasional site visits where required
  • Supporting modification control activities (e.g., capacity plates)
  • Liaising professionally with internal stakeholders and support departments

Person Specification

This position is ideal for mechanically or electrically biased engineers from any maintenance or service background—particularly:

  • General automotive technicians
  • HGV engineers
  • Mobile plant engineers
  • Forklift engineers
  • Ex‑forces/military vehicle engineers

Given the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a full driving licence
  • Have experience working in a customer‑facing environment
  • Be comfortable working unsupervised
  • Possess good literacy, numeracy, and basic computer skills
  • Have an engineering background or an engineering apprenticeship/vocational qualification
  • Be physically fit
  • (Desirable) Have materials handling experience
