Field Service Engineer - Materials Handling | Field-Based | Warrington, Wigan & Preston | Competitive Salary + Overtime + Company Vehicle

The Opportunity

We're currently recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join a growing engineering team, supporting customers across the Warrington, Wigan & Preston region. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on engineer who enjoys varied, autonomous work, building relationships with customers while maintaining high‑quality service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on materials handling equipment
  • Diagnose faults using electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Complete accurate service reports, documentation, and parts management
  • Deliver excellent customer service on‑site, acting as a company ambassador
  • Identify upsell opportunities and additional work where appropriate
  • Ensure full health & safety compliance at all times

About You

We're looking for candidates with a strong engineering mindset and practical experience, ideally from one of the following backgrounds:

  • Automotive / Vehicle Technician
  • HGV / Plant / Forklift Engineering
  • Agricultural or Military Engineering

You'll also have:

  • Solid mechanical and electrical fault‑finding skills
  • Experience working in a field-based or customer-facing role
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • A full UK driving licence
