The Logistics System Technician is responsible for daily system monitoring, performing routine maintenance and inspections, and physically removing damaged pallets, debris, and products to maintain a smooth, uninterrupted flow of goods through the system. This is an entry level opportunity with potential for the right person to work towards being an Automated Systems Engineer.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Flow control – Jam busting.
  • Physical removal of damaged pallets and product from the system.
  • First / frontline response to system faults.
  • Daily system inspections.
  • Servicing of the system alongside engineering staff.
  • Cleaning inside safety zones – technical cleaning.
  • Smooth operation and monitoring of complete system.
  • Providing constructive feedback on operation and potential improvements.
  • Work closely as part of the on-site engineering team.
  • Champion Health, Safety & Environmental standards of both Jungheinrich and customers sites, ensuring at all times an approach of safety first is adopted.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders, including but not limited to technical services, and service management.
  • Proactively complete tasks and prioritise and self-manage.
  • Responsible for identifying equipment reliability and areas that can be improved.
  • If required, undertake repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices.
  • To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times.
  • To accurately record all work undertaken.
  • To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations.
  • To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company.
  • Communicate effectively with Line Managers.
  • Any other duties which reasonably correspond to the general character of this role.

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Site Supervisor such as call out and working outside of normal working hours.

Working Hours:

  • 7 on & 7 off shift pattern covering both days & nights.
  • Required to be flexible to suit business needs.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Background in Engineering.
  • Level 2 or 3 in electrical or mechanical qualification.
  • PC literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Health and Safety awareness.
  • Physically fit and ability to work at height.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working with pallet cranes.
  • Previous experience of working with pallet conveyor & connected systems.
  • A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
