200 Degrees are independent speciality coffee roasters, purveyors of distinctive coffee shops, and unashamedly proud to be coffee geeks. We are now recruiting for a Head Barista with infectious personality and incredible coffee skills at our Shop in Junction 32 Castleford.
Your coffee knowledge and skills will need to be at a high level, and you will need to be comfortable training and quality managing other staff in this area of the business. You will also potentially be trained up to run public courses at the Barista Schools in other sites across the group.
Responsibilities of the Role:- Have a broad knowledge of different origins, varieties, processing methods, espresso, milk steaming, latte art, and brewing.
- Run the barista school with the support of the training team.
- Be an inspiring trainer in a class and shop floor situation.
- Assess their team and highlight areas to focus on.
- Set an outstanding example on each shift.
- Dial in new coffee with a focus on getting the best out of them and empower their barista team to do the same.
- Ensure the Barista School is always left clean and ready.
- Monitor dialling in records and machine cleanliness.
- Be a good communicator not only with the team on-site but also maintain frequent contact with the regional barista trainer for support with training.
- Lead shifts and be part of the Management team.
- Be highly customer-oriented and have a flair for sharing coffee knowledge and passion.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by Senior Management.
- Advanced coffee skills including espresso, latte art, and brewing.
- Ability to train, coach, mentor, and share their passion.
- Experience of supervisory accountability in a hospitality environment.
