Join to apply for the Startup Talent Scout role at Jumpstart. Recruiters are meant to fill the gap between candidates and startups. They can optimise for speed or quality, but cannot do both. Jumpstart can do both. Candidates hate the job hunt – ghosting, endless job descriptions, endless rejections. Startups hate hiring – hard to find top candidates, hiring mistakes are costly. Jumpstart can optimise the experience by creating an excellent user experience that attracts 5000+ applicants every month. We carefully hand‑pick the top 1‑2% and onboard them onto our platform. Our tech platform enables candidates and startups to match‑make immediately.

Objectives of the role

We are looking for someone with ideally 3‑4 years of startup experience, either generalist, marketing or sales, to help us directly scout and source the top 1% of startup talent for one of our three main streams. The role is part‑time (~2 days per week), completely flexible. You will be paid a competitive hourly rate, plus an additional cash bonus for every candidate you scout who gets a role through Jumpstart.

How it would work in practice

  • Sourcing activities – LinkedIn Recruiter, LinkedIn posting/social media posting, WhatsApp groups, potential postings to increase likelihood of responses, in‑person networking.
  • Jumping on a call / persuading candidates – If they have a strong profile, get candidates on the phone for a 5‑10 minute chat about the process and assess their initial fit/competence.
  • Fast‑tracking strong ones – If they are immediate stand‑outs, put them straight onto the platform; if they seem good but need checking, invite them straight to an interview; if they don’t seem good at all, ask them to apply online.

Tools to help you succeed

  • LinkedIn Recruiter – to search/select candidates more easily.
  • Workflow and outreach automation tools – an automation/scraping tool to make outreach more efficient so you don’t need to send lots of messages manually.
  • Canva subscription – to create social posts and content easily.
  • Calendly Pro subscription – to make booking calls smoother.

Ways of working / compensation

Expected hours – flexible, around 8‑15 hours per week. Compensation – £20 per hour (billed monthly) and £100 for every candidate that gets a job through us. Onboarding – you will join our team of other part‑time talent scouts (Ryan & Olivia).

How to apply

Apply in 30 seconds HERE. If relevant, the final stage will be a 30‑minute call with our Founder Kabir to assess fit & motivations. If successful, we will onboard you straight away.
