Overview

Kabir & Matthew (the founders) set out with a hunch that young people were getting increasingly tired of working in large corporates early in their career and that start-ups could provide a great alternative… Having now placed 250 alumni in roles, we have proved that beyond doubt.

So how does it work? Applicants apply in their 1000s, we handpick the most exceptional candidates, give them training, and then we flip the job hunt on its head by inviting founders to come in and pitch their companies & roles in 15 mins over Zoom to the candidates. Candidates then get fast-tracked to interview and are supported in their role via mentorship, a vibrant community, training, and more.

With only a small team, we have grown revenue at 3x for each of the last 2 years, have had about 50,000+ people apply to Jumpstart, and ~100s of start-ups approach us (not the other way round!).

Unlike most startups, we are profitable and we’ve done all of this without having to take on any external investment (meaning that we don’t have investors breathing down our necks and we haven’t had to give away any of our equity to external investors - despite having had lots of investment interest).

And we’re only just getting started…

  • We can apply this model across many other functions & levels of seniority. We have already proved that we can do this with our our commercial stream for junior sales roles! We see HUGE opportunity in this.
  • Our alumni is jam-packed with the next generation of entrepreneurs. There is lots of long term value in the Jumpstart network and identity - whether it be from creating a buzz of referrals around Jumpstart or helping them set up their own businesses.

About The Role

We have big ambitions to continue growing and scaling our programmes. But to help us get there, we need someone to help us get as many brilliant people applying to them as possible, and taking complete ownership of this process! The core purpose of this role is to do whatever it takes to hit our targets here. We really don’t mind how it happens. but we have included some examples of how this might be done.

Responsibilities

Running digital marketing campaigns: planning and executing digital marketing campaigns across various channels, both paid and organic. This could include email marketing, social media advertising, search engine marketing, and more.

Growing and building partnerships: working with new and existing organisations to help us get as many great applicants as possible!

Staying on top of the numbers: using tools like google analytics to understand success rates of various channels and initiatives at the top of the funnel, and continually optimising these over time.

Coming up with creative & out of the box ideas: whether its guerrilla marketing campaigns, PR or anything else, trying whatever is needed to help us grow our top quality applicant base.

Growing our social media presence & maintaining our website: building out or schedule of social media posts, and growing our following.

Startup growth initiatives: as we progress, this role will also involve looking at how we leverage digital and in person channels to drive as many startups as possible!

There will also be…

A bunch of other stuff that rears its head. Being in a startup means that everyone is a generalist and everyone mucks in. It’s hard to predict the future and so you’ll need to be happy with getting stuck in.

About You

We are ideally looking to find someone with ~1-3 years experience in a growth or marketing related role, but more specifically with the attributes and skills listed below:

Target driven: motivated by ambitious targets, and doing all you can to achieve them!

A strong understanding of digital marketing channels: experience running both paid and organic digital campaigns from end to end, ideally with experience of maintaining and running social media campaigns.

Being full of ideas: someone who enjoys coming up with new and innovative ideas to drive applicants!

Great copywriting skills: an ability to write persuasive comms and tailor different messages to different audiences is paramount.

Enjoys optimising things and working with data: you need to be someone who enjoys looking at the numbers, performing A/B testing, and using data to improve and optimise things.

Takes complete ownership: we want someone who is able to work fairly independently, and can take ownership of the various channels we are using to drive as many applicants across all our programmes as possible!

Our Offer

Financial compensation: £35-50k salary (dependent on experience) + options + pension contributions after 3 month probationary period.

Holiday allowance: 25 days holiday + 4 days off between Xmas and New Year + a day off on your birthday + 8 bank holidays = 38 days.

Personal development: we take this incredibly seriously - we run 360 degree feedback sessions every 3 weeks & will fund any additional courses that you think are needed to fulfil your potential in the role.

Location: we are London based and like to meet up 2 days a week at a WeWork. But, we give you an All Access pass that means you have the flexibility to come into any WeWork around London on any day you wish.

Work from anywhere: this year we are trialling allowing the team to work from anywhere in the world for a month.

£250 activity budget: we give all team members a yearly activity budget of £250 to spend on a class or activity that is wild, wacky, or simply something they wouldn’t normally do.

Cycle to Work Scheme: save 25-40% on the cost of a bike via a government initiative.
