We are looking for a CTO or Senior Engineer to help Jumpstart break into technical hiring, setting up the systems and processes to select and place the best junior to mid‑level engineers at startups.
Jumpstart has focused on non‑technical hires and has strong demand from partners for technical hiring. We need a real expert who:
- Has worked several years as a Software Engineer in a startup (ideally as a CTO or building from 0‑1).
- Has hired and recruited engineers, especially at junior to mid‑level.
Core Activities
- Candidate acquisition & marketing: leverage content, direct sourcing, hackathons, and events to find top candidates.
- Candidate selection: evaluate candidates to ensure they are exceptional and a good fit for early‑stage startups.
- Feedback loops & driving success: collaborate with candidates and startup CTOs to refine hiring practices.
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience as a Software Engineer in startups (ideally as a CTO or from 0‑1).
- Experience hiring and managing Software Engineers at junior to mid‑level.
- Keen interest in the startup talent space.
- Ability to fully commit to at least 3 months.
Compensation
Day rate of £350 (≈£84k annualised). Plus 20% of any fee Jumpstart earns per engineer placed, uncapped. Potential total package of £30,000+ for 3 months of work.
Work Environment
Work directly with founder Kabir and a network of 500+ CTOs.
