About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to join us at Jumeirah Carlton Tower. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Support the Head Chef in all culinary operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Collaborate on the creation and updating of menus, including daily specials, seasonal dishes, and event-specific offerings, emphasizing innovation and luxury.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work atmosphere, and ensuring adherence to hotel policies and culinary standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on dishes and ingredients, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation meet the hotel\’s luxury standards.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, placing orders as needed, and ensuring cost-effective use of resources while minimizing waste

About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal culinary education program from a recognized institution, such as a culinary arts degree or diploma.
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in high-end hotel kitchens.
  • Proven expertise in a wide range of cooking techniques and cuisines, with a strong emphasis on fine dining and sophisticated food presentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Experience in menu planning and development, showcasing creativity and innovation while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
