About The Job

An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader – Housekeeping to join the Housekeeping Team in Jumeirah Carlton Tower. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Responsible for inspecting guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and readiness.
  • Assigns responsibilities to housekeeping staff, checks their performance, and provides assistance and guidance when needed.
  • Maintains clear records in handover books, logs issues and follow-ups, and communicates incidents or complaints promptly to the Duty Manager.
  • Ensures smooth operations by managing maid’s cupboards, cleaning supplies, work schedules, and room availability based on occupancy.
  • Follows all hotel housekeeping procedures, including COSHH, Health and Safety, manual handling, and emergency evacuation protocols.
  • Ensures lost property is logged correctly and handled with care for the return to its rightful owner.
  • Responds to guest and colleague requests within a 10-minute timeframe to ensure prompt and courteous service.
  • Ensures strict control, upkeep, and reporting procedures regarding keys and cleaning equipment.
  • Maintains accurate worksheets, calculates productivity, checks daily reports, and ensures updates match computer systems.
  • Willing to adapt to departmental needs, attend trainings, and assist other departments as required to support guest service.

About you

  • Must possess a keen eye for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and guest special needs to ensure high standards are met.
  • Proven ability to supervise a team, assign tasks effectively, and take responsibility for quality control and team performance.
  • Able to clearly communicate with team members and management, log issues accurately, and provide excellent guest service.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, appropriate grooming, and adherence to work schedules and hotel standards.
  • Understands occupancy patterns, room status management, and how to maximize room availability for sale.
  • Capable of responding flexibly to departmental needs, taking initiative for improvements, and actively seeking necessary training.
