The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

Working in conjunction with the Snr Design Team, to provide design solutions for various clothing product types, including printed graphics or other applications/embellishments. To design the corresponding packaging/trims/effects, according to the requirements of both the customers and the licensors. To create presentation sheets of relevant designs for the purpose of sales and marketing including brochure artwork and pages, according to the customer’s requirements and deadlines. This may also involve attending sales appointments with the Sales or Account Manager to present designs. To respond quickly and effectively to the customer’s design requirements and to successfully make any necessary design amendments requested.

Originate accurate artwork (print set-ups) for prints, embroideries, packaging, branding tools and other effects. This will clearly detail the exact appearance and nature of the application including dimensions and colours, for the supplier’s guidance. Maintain a commercial awareness of garment costs and provide design solutions with creative focus whilst still in accordance with the customer’s budget. Liaise with the Account Manager and if necessary, the factories and suppliers to ensure artwork is well-received, understood and interpreted correctly. Organise garment designs into the necessary format required for approval, with the relevant style, print and colour references. This includes submitting the designs for approval and liaison with the licensor to gain approval.

To review, analyse and comment on strike-offs of prints, embroideries, and other effects in conjunction with the Product Developer and in accordance with the related artwork and necessary quality standards. Maintain an awareness of current and forecasted fashion and clothing trends and apply this to design solutions as appropriate. Represent the business in a professional and competent manner at all times. To carry out all duties within the necessary time frame and constraints of the critical path.

  • Sound understanding of clothing construction and of all garment applications/embellishments (print, embroidery, appliqué etc.), and the commercial constraints/limitations of use.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • CAD Skills, proficiency in using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Effective time management and an ability to provide effective design solutions to tight deadlines.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to organise workload according to priority.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team.
