We’re looking for a Business Development Director- Public Sector, with a track record of building senior relationships within the Public Sector. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Public Sector customers to develop, migrate and modernise IT applications as well as experience meeting customer demands in data, cloud and AI.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Acquisition: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets, focusing on organisations seeking digital transformation and legacy systems modernisation.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base, including market analysis and competitive positioning.
- Networking and Outreach: Leverage professional networks, industry events, and online platforms to connect with prospective clients and generate leads.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within prospective clients, understanding their business needs and articulating how our solutions can meet those needs.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals and presentations that address client challenges, showcase our expertise and ultimately win new business.
- Market Insights: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to effectively position our offerings.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Maintain accurate sales forecasts, report on sales activities, and provide insights to the leadership team on market opportunities and challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product, and delivery teams to ensure alignment in messaging and approach, and to provide feedback on customer needs
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in BD or sales within the technology sector (focus on digital transformation, cloud solutions, AI, or legacy systems preferred)
- Sales track record in Public sector organisations required
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and acquiring new customers. MEDDICC experience preferred
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology solutions and the digital transformation landscape.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with department leadership and key stakeholders
