Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic gardener/estate worker with animal experience to join our small team for 3 days per week, self employed. This role involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and involves duties in the garden and parkland.The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in farm animals and as well as gardening will be helping the stockhand approximately half the time to take care of the animals on her days off.
Must have the ability to work independantly as well as part of a team. Attention to detail and physical fitness is essential in this role.
Experience with handling cows, sheep and hens essential and previous experience on a private estate in a similar role is preferred.
Spray certificate level PA1/PA6 advantageous
Competence in the safe operation of common garden machinery and small tractor is essential
Duties
- Grass cutting ride on and pedestrian mowers and strimmers.
- Lawn edging leaf collection use of chipper/shredder and hedge trimming.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks.
- Weeding and watering and basic pest control
- Driveway maintenance and raking gravel.
- External property maintenance and cleaning eg glasshouse drains and gutters pathways etc.
- Assisting with maintenance of swimming pool and water features
- Rubbish collection and recycling.
- Fence maintenance and repairs.
- Basic machinery maintenance.
- Assisting with livestock care including feeding and mucking out
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
