JRRL are seeking an experienced and motivated Residential Property Paralegal to join our clients Chislehurst team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing their own caseload and supporting a Partner with residential property transactions from instruction to completion. There is a possibility for progression as a Residential Property fee earner.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing a caseload of residential conveyancing files, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, transfers of equity, and new build properties.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction process.
- Undertaking all aspects of the conveyancing process, with support to draft contracts, raising and responding to enquiries, reviewing searches, and preparing completion statements.
- Ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on the firm’s case management system.
- Providing regular updates to clients and proactively progressing transactions to completion.
- Liaising with fee earners and other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of the department locally and firmwide.
- Assisting the Partner to support progression of transactions.
- Attending to post-completion matters alongside other members of the team.
- Assisting with the preparation of reports and other documentation as required.
Person Specification:
- Fee earning paralegal, CILEX to NQ considered.
- Previous in-depth experience working as a paralegal in residential property is essential.
- Residential Property career Paralegal or equivalent would be ideal.
- Ability to manage a full caseload with supervision.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and client-focused approach.
- Strong communication and marketing skills to communicate and promote the firm and the discipline.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with case management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and compliance requirements relating to residential property transactions and Conveyancing Quality Standard.
This is a full-time permanent position with some flexibility for hybrid work after probation. The lower end of the salary range would be for a paralegal with 2+ years experience and the higher end would be for a NQ solicitor.
